This lush landscape is more than nature’s beauty—it’s a promise of food, progress, and purpose. Something great is coming.

BTV Farms, officially incorporated as B. T. AND V. M. Woart Farm Inc. in 2006, traces its origins back to 1985 in the Barbour Hill community of Margibi County, Liberia. Founded by the late Benjamin T. Woart Sr. and his wife Victoria M. Woart, the farm began as a small family operation with a vision to improve food security and uplift rural communities.
In its early days, the farm faced significant logistical challenges—there was no road access to Barbour Hill. Undeterred, Mr. Woart personally led the construction of the first access road to the area, connecting families to schools, farmers to markets, and communities to vital services. That same road remains critical to farm operations and local development today.
Through Liberia’s civil war and public health crises like the Ebola outbreak, BTV Farms remained a pillar of stability—continuing to cultivate food and support surrounding families. This enduring presence has cemented the farm's reputation as a symbol of resilience, community leadership, and agricultural commitment.
Today, BTV Farms operates on 40 of 150 acres, primarily cultivating cassava, and supports additional smallholder farmers across Margibi and Lower Bong Counties. The farm processes cassava into Farina (Gari) using both traditional and small-scale mechanized methods. Future plans include clearing the remaining acreage and expanding into soybean cultivation, scaling up cassava processing, and creating new market opportunities for women and youth farmers.
At BTV Farms, we believe in sustainable agriculture, community empowerment, and building a stronger, more food-secure Liberia.
BTV Farms isn’t just growing crops—we’re growing opportunities. Our work supports:
We are committed to expanding our operations—scaling cassava processing, adding new crops like soybeans, and building a thriving agribusiness that contributes to Liberia’s rural transformation.
